College of Arts & Sciences Second Writing Requirement Courses: Only the specific sections designated within each academic term will satisfy the second writing requirement. Please check the UDSIS registration system to ascertain whether a particular course section will be offered as a second writing course. Students should search for courses that will fulfill the requirement in a specific semester via the Registrar's Office Course Search​ page.

COMMUNICATION INTEREST MAJOR REQUIREMENTS

Students enter as Communication Interest majors (COMI) and must complete the four core courses: COMM 245, 256, 301, 330. Based on their GPA in these four courses, the TOP 125 STUDENTS will admitted into the COMM major. Students eligible for admittance must be a COMI major and admittance into the COMM major will only occur in JUNE of each year.

Only the first grade obtained in any COMI course will be used to calculate the GPA in the COMI sequence. 
Grades earned at another institution and transferred to UD will NOT be included when calculating a student's GPA for admittance. For information on how to calculate your GPA when a course is transferred, please contact the main office at comm-staff@udel.edu.
